DES MOINES – Police in Iowa’s capitol city say a teen girl narrowly escaped an abduction after a man leapt from a car and chased her.
On Wednesday, June 8th Polk County Deputies took a report of a possible attempted child abduction that occurred near the 5300 block NW Meredith Drive in Des Moines at around 8:00 p.m. The 14-year-old female victim told deputies that while she was walking east near the intersection of NW Meredith Drive and NW 53rd Court a black male jumped out of a gray car and started chasing her.
The girl ran into a house and told the occupants to call the police. At that time the suspect quit running after her and was seen fleeing north on NW 53rd Court in the gray car.
The suspect is only described as a black male, 25-30 years old, bald, wearing a white shirt. The suspect was driving an unknown make/model gray car with no hood and a loud or defective muffler.
Police are continuing to hunt for the suspect.
