Picture a world with voters showing up! Oh I know why no one showed up…NO Max WEAVER on the ballet.Big mistake people and Max.

Other than the Park Boad there was nothing else to vote for in our ward.

7% ? Far more than I expected!

what it all comes down to 7 % of the people have spoken.

I guess the city has no background checks for elected positions? Park Board or not someone who steals from their employer with charges filed, leaves the scene of accidents and assaults people clearly should not be eligible to be on a park board.

The problem is the process is outgrown. It’s archaic. It may have worked back in the days when villagers gathered in barns to elect the most wise and chaste in the village, but in today’s world, the mechanism is simplistic. It needs to be redesigned and overhauled.

I must agree with all the other post.

Ewwwwwww. What a shame even more for Mason City. Zero common sense on all counts at the table.. There goes “For the People”

Troy got 420

The Right to Vote is highly overrated. Once most politicians get elected they do what they damn well please and dance to the tune of them with the money. They line their own pockets with perks and privilege and you wait four years before you can fire them. And by that time the damage is done. I suppose the election process is the best solution but the older I get the more cynical I’ve become.

This is why you should be supporting Bernie Sanders for President. Feel The Bern!

@Racist-there you with showing your lack of intelligence again.

Please explain with coherent sentences and facts how my response demonstrates a lack of intelligence. I’ll wait…

Still waiting…

AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN everyone knows that the best job in this town is selling dope. Easy money and when you get caught you get a suspended sentence and get to go back to the streets. Bookmeyer is a POS and so why not be the mayor in a shitty town.

I think the reason for low voter turn out is….number 1, our council stinks. And it doesn’t matter who is on the council, they all kiss butt to Bookmeyer. And I think people feel nothing is going to change in this town with him at the helm. Which is pretty much true. Number 2…our town has become an import drug mecca. There are many people here not for the benefit of our community, but to peddle their drugs. So certainly, those people aren’t going to vote. This town is going to sh*t. And we have our council, slum lords, police force, and sheriff’s department to thank for it.

What a fricken douce bag. Our town must really like getting f**ked as we keep electing boozemeyers puppets. Hang on MC residents and hide your billfold as for sure now with this puppet on board were doomed.

The problem is on 7% of the eligible voters voted in the election!
People can’t complain if they don’t vote! You are right though Eric’s buddy got elected and that is not good for our city!!
