Anyone seen the series SONS OF ANARCHY? I spent the past week of my vacation/hangover time engrossed in back to back episodes. I watched them all from the beginning consecutively for 7 days…total immersion. I’m at S.6.E.1., and as much as the show begins to revile me, I’m hooked on it; I cannot put it down. Sure, it’s highly improbable they’d get away with as much as they do; shootouts on open roads in broad daylight by dozens of bikers with ‘cuts’ showing their club identity–
…but if you set aside the numerous improbabilities and just focus on the storyline, characters and incredible twists, the show is artfully / masterfully done. Holy schmoley, what a graphically violent escapade that club is on. Anyway, the point I’m making (if there is one) is I’ve finally capitulated and reluctantly accepted that America is hooked on GUNS, VIOLENCE, DRUGS, COPS & OUTLAWS, and it’s such an integral part of the DNA that it’s pointless to fight it.
With that said however, I can only hope to perhaps one day emancipate myself from it, and be part of a new construction phase that thoroughly understands the history of the United States: the effects of drugs and intoxicants, the trappings and nuances of religion / morality / ethics; and despite the incredible odds stacked against, finds a noble band of stalwart evolutionaries, and begins design of the new society DESPITE all the garbage and noise around us. Tall order? It is.
Reading the comments on here it is obvious that there are a couple Meth or former Meth users making comments that are trying to defend the indefensible.
Or, it may be that it LeftMC and Peter are the the same person. Still high or just smoking their socks. ???
No, I’ve never used meth and I never intend too. Also, I’m not Philosophus. I know it’s shocking to you replubiltards that there could be two people that hold the same opinion on drugs. I’m married with two grown children and my wife and I recently moved to Des Moines after living in MC for 20 years. Advocating for the legalization of meth is certainly controversial but that doesn’t change the fact that prohibition does not work. It didn’t work for alcohol.
Oh wow, poor little liberal brat can’t get her own way so she is going to whine and cry like a baby. Grow up and join the real world. You can’t always get what you want. You leeches are all the same.
Once again the childish games have begun! God forbid that intelligent diaglog, civil conversation and reasonable debate get in the way of name calling. Shame on you.
Meth should never, never be legalized. People who make it and sell it need to be prosecuted to the fullest. Better yet, send the meth dealers to some island in the middle of no where so they can’t hurt anyone else with this horrible drug!
@Anonymous-And send the meth users with the dealers. They deserve eachother. These people do meth because they want to and because they are stupid, just like the dummy’s that want to enable them.
@Lefty-You are such a expert because you have first hand experience. I am willing to bet that is a picture of you on here. I knew you were brain dead and now I know why. You are really Philosopus under another name. Both brain dead liberals.
Yes, prohibition and the war on drugs is a complete success and clearly working! Just like it worked so well with alcohol! You sir are the brain dead one. Wake up.
No, meth, opiates, and many other drugs are horrible. But the law isn’t stopping people from hurting themselves and laws only serve to create crime. Legalizing all drugs would all but eliminate the violent crime that surrounds the distribution and sales of drugs. Countries that have legalized drugs have not seen an increase in use, in fact most see a decline because of increased education and the allure goes away. These are all creative, and intelligent ways of thinking…
…about the real problem and solving it with some ingenuity. I know thoughtfulness and ingenuity are not your strong suits LVS so I fully expect a one dimensional response.
@Lefty-OK Philosphus. Keep on smoking the funny crap and burning out the little bit that is left of your brain. It is a law for a reason. How do you like Vegas. Been fired yet?
DARE, like most drug education / deterrence in this country is a joke. Feeding kids with misinformation actually encourages drug use. They know they’ve been lied to about the dangers of drugs so they try them on their own. ALL drugs need to be legal, taxed, regulated. Education about their dangers needs to be honest and real. Money collected needs to fund this education and treatment programs for those who become addicted. Prohibition and incarceration clearly don’t work.
Yeah, and while they are at it, make it against the law for parents telling their children; “don’t run with scissors or sharp sticks, because you’ll fall and poke an eye out”. We know that’s BS too.
That would be a stupid law, because ultimately kids will still run with scissors and still injure themselves. Just like prohibition is stupid and doesn’t work.
I suppose a person could say there are lots of things that are illegal and “don’t work” but that doesn’t mean they should be legalized. Currently, domestic abuse is illegal and so is kidnapping and bank robbery, but these things still happen everyday. Does that mean they should be legalized then too?
You two are so one dimensional you can’t tell the difference between drug use, which only hurts the user, and violent crimes where there are actual victims. Try using your brains for once. Your circle jerk of dumb is so amusing.
@Lefty-I guess you are really that ignorant. Hard to believe in this day in age. Drugs are the main cause of crime in this country and you are a idiot if you don’t know that. Almost all of the break ins and thefts are drug related and a good portion of the killings. Stupid is as Stupid does and you sure are STUPID.
STOP THE PRESSES! LVS actually stated something that was correct. The majority of crimes committed in America are in fact because of drugs. It’s just that the majority of them are simply possession or sales, not the violent crimes you describe. Over 50% of current inmates are there for NON-VIOLENT drug offenses. If you make drugs legal, that would allow our police all kinds of time to focus on real crimes.
Additionally, legalizing drugs will not get rid of the drug problem. The problem is that humans like drugs, and have since the dawn of time. Legalizing drugs, regulating them, taxing them, and using the funds for education and treatment is simply a smarter way to address the drug problem. But I wouldn’t expect you to understand anything that’s smarter…
Hey lefty, let me ask you this, how many people are killed by drunk drivers? You legalize drugs and the problems we have with it right now will increase 100%.
@Maybe-You need to understand that Lefy is just a liberal spoiled child who is unsatisfied with her lot in life and lives a miserable existence because she is ill-disciplined and a useless liberal spoiled brat who wants everything without any responsibility for her actions. Just another liberal spoiled brat.
@Maybe do you know that alcohol related crimes increased when it was outlawed in 1920? If alcohol was made illegal today we would still have drunk driving. People drive while on drugs today and if drugs were made legal they will still drive on drugs. People are going to do, what they are going to do. A smarter approach to regulating drugs is what’s needed. Eliminate use and possession from being a crime. Focus on honest education. Sell them to only those over 21.
Drinking is legal but drinking and driving is not. You legalize drugs and more people will be doing drugs. The more people that will be doing drugs the more people that will be doing drugs and driving. It is total common sense and if you can’t see that then you have a problem.
Yes but the data from states and countries that have already legalized drugs shows that use either remains the same or declines once legalized. Again, the people who want to do drugs will. Let’s have the government be the benefactor of the money rather than drug dealers who don’t care if they sell to kids or if they are selling tainted drugs.
The government is already leading the war on drugs and it’s a failure. Please, try and put some actual thought into the topic rather than simply spewing your conservative rhetoric.
So use declines once it is legalized??? Are you serious?? Thats like fienstien saying once everybody gives up their guns criminals will lay theirs down too because thats human nature. I don’t like calling people names but I might be abliged to agree with LVS on this one.
” Please, try and put some actual thought into the topic rather than simply spewing your conservative rhetoric.”
Ok, sure thing. I should have known that liberal drug users would be in favor of allowing drugs to be legalized. Sorry I forgot you are always right about everything.
And your assumptions about my drug use are amusing for sure. Such a simple minded attack on someone who is actually putting thought into a problem that isn’t getting better because of the status quo. Here’s another article on Portugal http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/portugal-drug-decriminalization/
since you are using Portugal as an example for drugs, then I will use Switzerland an example on gun control. The reason why drug use when down is because all the druggies OD’ed.
@Maybe-The spoiled liberal brat just wants her own way no matter what happens to anyone else. You would have to be blind, dumb and stupid not to see all the damage done by drugs. But, she doesn’t care as long as she gets what she wants. I used to spank my kids for a lot less.
Ah yes the classic conservative “moral” argument! You guys love to impose your “morals” on everyone else. Ok, forget my argument for legalizing all drugs for a second and focus on marijuana. Is it “morally” right to lock someone up in jail for the rest of their lives for a nonviolent offense involving a plant that your God put on this earth? A plant that is infinitely safer than alcohol? Jesus turned water into wine, was it morally wrong for him to manufacture and consume drugs?
There you go, give up on the conversation rather than admit you’re wrong. Why am I not surprised that you didn’t change your mind when presented with evidence that supports legalization? Instead you hide behind your God when backed into a corner. That’s the conservative way! The Bible also says that you shouldn’t wear clothing of mixed fibers or cut your hair. I assume you’re following those to the letter as well?
You go ahead and do all the drugs you want. Drugs are not good for you not to mention that they are illegal. Anybody with any common sense would know that if you legalize drugs you are just asking for problems. God gave me common sense so I will use it and NOT do drugs and I will also use it to not argue with a fool. Say what you want about me or God but you are definitely a fool.
If drugs were legalized today, you wouldn’t start doing a bunch of drugs? Neither would I! See that’s the beauty of my argument, the people who choose to do drugs are going to, regardless of their legal status. In fact when you take away the allure of doing something illegal, consumption goes down. Feel free to refer to my previous links for the proof. Drugs are health problem, not a crime problem. Let’s start being smart about it and treating it as such.
It’s true. Posting on NIT, it didn’t take me long to realize that LVS is person of zero substance and character. He struggles to put together sentences let alone actual ideas. The only “skill” he seems to possess is the ability to bash people and call them names. And he’s not very good at that either. At least Maybe can participate in a civil discussion, that is until he realizes he’s losing then he goes and hides under his bible. Prohibition doesn’t work people.
@Lefty-People like you should be so ashamed about voting in that empty suit in Washington D.C. People like you who want stuff without thinking of what it does to other people and the law are just selfish lefty pigs and should be run out of the country. You are a spoiled liberal brat with a big mouth who is living off everyone else.
Intoxicants and drugs are complicated business…I get that. Life is complicated business, as is technology and science. I understand the virtue of trying to lead a simple life sunup to sunset. But to really know what’s going on, you have to experience it for yourself, take a risk, peel off the blinders. Education helps. Prohibition hurts. Like experiencing novacaine for the first time. It’s all part of the equation.
Through time, experience, observation, candor, honesty, and full disclosure humans learn about a substance and its effects. In time substances settle into their natural place: bleach for cleaning, ibuprofen for swelling/pain reduction, hawthorn berries for cardiac circulation etc. When used appropriately all substances have a use…drugs are no different. This war is really a religious war against pleasure centers of the body. Anything that gives pleasure is outlawed.
It’s similar to why sexual stimulation is considered off limits and taboo. We’ve been mass conditioned for thousands of years to believe humans must suffer, therefore anything that runs contrary to that penance must be outlawed. Cocaine found a way to unleash a dozen orgasms consecutively and those religious authorities are PISSED OFF about that. They needed sex to be a quick transaction for child bearing only. The war on drugs is religious in origin.
Every “dirty” joke your uncle ever told you at a family reunion was based on a subconscious desire for humanity to break free from the shackles religious morality imposed on us. It’s why boxes of Playboy magazines sat in your grandpas closet, and why millions of sexual references and innuendo are scattered throughout media and TV. The war against the midsection extended to libertine activities of pleasure inducing activities. We need you to SUFFER boy, not climax.climate
I don’t think cops should concern themselves so much with drugs. It should be a concern of the medical industry. Also, why not put up comparison photos of smokers, drinkers, and buffet eaters? Put up photos of before and after cancer victims? Yes, meth is probably bad when abused, but so are lots of other things. This still comes across as disingenuous and insincere on the police’s part. They want a boogeyman for some strange reason.
What’s the matter Peter? Does it remind you of what happened to you? If it stops one person from taking this poison it should be mandatory viewing in every school.

No Matt, I’m not. Just try and wrap what little brain power you have around that.
Oh wow, poor little liberal brat can’t get her own way so she is going to whine and cry like a baby. Grow up and join the real world. You can’t always get what you want. You leeches are all the same.
It’s like you’re 4 years old or something. You’re horribly hilarious and completely outdated.
Oh you poor, poor liberal brat. Keep on crying, it will get you nowhere.
Just wondering if this my mommy. I’d ask my dad if I could find him.
Once again the childish games have begun! God forbid that intelligent diaglog, civil conversation and reasonable debate get in the way of name calling. Shame on you.
These things would be nice, but are impossible on this site because of people like LVS.
If you don’t like it don’t read it. God, I hate a damn cry baby whiner.

@Buzz-So is murder, but with the brain deads around here it might not be so bad.
@LVS… You might be on to something there. The argument that “prohibition” doesn’t work, sure sounds familiar doesn’t it?

LVS is one of the dumbest individuals I’ve come across. His views are almost expired. You’re spot on Left.
coming from peter that means you are in serious trouble.
