Charles City man arrested for conspiracy, faces two felony charges

CHARLES CITY – A wanted Charles City man was jailed this week on a felony conspiracy charge.

Fredrick Thomas Williams, age 32, has been wanted since January 9 on a warrant for felony conspiracy for an incident that took place in Charles City on December 10, 2014. On that day, police were called to a business located at the 800 block of Clark Street reference a person there trying to commit theft with a fake check. The suspect left the business but was soon located a few blocks away and an investigation was conducted, leading to the arrest warrant and charge against Williams.

Charles City police caught up with Williams on January 27 at about 2:38 AM near the 1700 block of Clark Street. He was taken to jail, booked and held until he posted 10% of a $5,000 bond and was released. He awaits a February 24th hearing.

Williams, at this time, is also facing felony forgery and theft in the fourth degree charges, also brought by the Charles City Police Department, for an incident that allegedly took place on August 4, 2014. He has pleaded not guilty and awaits a February 19 jury trial.
