philo-budArrived in Colorado. The higher air tantalizing to breathe. Repression left behind, dust of tailwinds, draft closer to man and gods.

Look, I’m not going to gloat. My arrival here in Colorado says enough. The suffering I experienced while in North Iowa was significant. Politics does matter, and when a state…a community…a people follow untrue doctrines, they set forth a path of ignorance, hurting themselves.

Iowa has a lot of growing up to do, a lot of soul searching, and a lot of experimentation. Letting your lives become ruled by lies and propaganda put forward by BIG Oil, Pharma, Alcohol, Religion, Law Enforcement, and Prison Builders, is destroying your chance for growth, and is quite dishonest and lazy.

philo-bud2It’s not that marijuana itself is some golden ticket to enlightenment; the effects it has on people vary. If you overdo it, or use it in a way that is reckless, you can and probably will suffer some adverse consequences.

Inexperienced users should never drive until the ‘high’ effects are well-calmed, and you’ve returned to a normal state. Some people (myself included) tend to have a predisposition towards anxiety. Smoking too much, too fast, doesn’t help.

Ease into it…go slow…vaporize, or ingest an edible if smoking is too harsh. Savor the seductive aroma. Hold it near to you. It’s hundreds of thousands of years old, and holds many secrets.

The effects of alcohol are FAR more damaging and debilitating than marijuana. Even if you feel like the world is ending because you’re so damn high-it really isn’t.

philo-bud3Marijuana is just a plant, and as I sincerely believe: all plants should be granted use and access by humans. No government should have the right to disparage or persecute a people from utilizing what grows naturally. Iowa’s marijuana laws place people in a very difficult situation: forcing them to choose between breaking the law and becoming a criminal, or gaining medical and spiritual relief.

It’s been a very heinous and unjust trajectory prosecutors have placed marijuana using humans on, with many dying and being unfairly imprisoned for vast stretches of their lives. I cannot even fathom the legal and cultural chasm these brave and noble Coloradans traversed, making it so easy and legal to walk into a small shoppe and purchase some buds. Suffrage never seems to be an easy thing here in America, and it still depresses me wondering why some humans have to be so nasty and unjust to one another, when we could all live so cleanly, so proudly, and so freely.

When Iowa decides to grow up and stop being so petty, abusive, myopic and mean, I’ll gladly return to the place of my birth; because Iowa has some great potential (windmill capital of the world)…but until then, I’m going to continue exploring my new home and place of spiritual, psychological, physical, and political refuge: COLORADO.

  1. I just wanted to describe a bit of the phases a person can go thru a ho is a first time marijuana user. An overwhelming sorrow of emotions can well up inside you placing all your actions in question. With strong enough bud, it can manifest into what I describe as the ‘Christ on a cross’ phenomena, which I believe has legitimized Christianity. Persecution is part if the initial effects, followed by salvation.

    1. So in other words, Christianity owes its existence to marijuana and other emotionally activating substances. Alcohol also creates a strong enotional effect although to a much more sloppy degree. It’s why many people become engrossed in movies on the day of their hangover, and may begin crying at thoughts normally they wouldn’t be affected by. Marijuana however, has a much more potent effect, and visions of the crucifixion become commonplace;any symbol of suffering and redemption.

  2. Hey kids. Just getting acclimated to the snowy climate. It’s been snowing here nonstop! I donated some warm weather clothes to a community clothing drop. Great conversation earlier at a Dunkin Donuts with some locals. I won’t lie to you: at first I was freaking out when it started snowing…and it was COLD last night…but I geared up and got situated a bit better to handle the 0 degree nights to come. WAY NICE PEOPLE HERE!

    1. I’m waiting for the snow to clear up, and I’ll get some landmark pictures and send over another article or update thru a link. No, it won’t be condemnatory…I’m over that. I liver here now, and it’s GREAT. Working out, and going to get into winter sports of some sort. Super active region with awesome winter threads. I love ya Iowa.

      1. You wanna know something ironic? Even though I legally purchased a gram of marijuana from a dispensary, I have not smoked any yet. I’m too busy getting situated a d navigating all the snow and cold weather. I’ll need to be safe and figured out before I dare take a toke. I’m busy with my health club membership and am doing fine with that.

  3. I hope the door didn’t hit ya where the good Lord split ya. Despite what you think is wrong with this state and it occupants, most of us seem to be getting along just fine with out you here. In fact, some seem quite giddy. One could almost say they act “high” now that you have left…again.

The only thing which would make this whole dream come true even better is if you would stop posting your rambling screeds on NIT too. I know…to much to ask for isn’t it.

    1. @Buzz-It will be OK. After a couple of day smoking the funny stuff he will forget how to sign on and with any luck at all he will forget how to get back here.

  4. Same old Philly- Always someone else’s fault. I really hope Iowa never changes and we are rid of him for good. Iowa is a much better place without the Philosopus’s of this world. He is where he belongs, with all the other drugger’s and welfare baby’s. They will probably throw him back shortly.

    1. Philly, I really hope you stay in Colorado, that takes one less deadbeat off the tax leach roll in Iowa, I am glad they have you now. Please invite these Chicago immigrants here in Mason City to come live with you and share the rent so we can get them out of town as well.
