MASON CITY – A Mason City woman called 911 at least 10 times Thursday evening, and police didn’t take too kindly to it.

According to police, 63-year-old Alma Melinda Shafer, dialed 911 at least 10 times on the evening of November 6.  A dispatcher continued taking the calls, and officers were sent to her home at the 200 block of the 6th Street SE.  After an investigation, Shafer was arrested and taken to jail for dialing 911 with no emergency.  Alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.  She was jailed and soon released.

Shafer pled guilty last year to the same crime, dialing 911 with no emergency, after being charged by Mason City police.  She was fined for her actions.

She needs more than GOD, you are correct shes been doing this for mmmany years and when your a drunk that’s what you do. DRIVE people fricken crazy and make their life miserable because you’ve ruined your own.

She has been doing this for years. This is so sad. Looks like she has also been beaten and strangled. God help her!

Where’s Max Weaver ?

I really don’t think fining her will solve the problem. The lady needs help and I hope she gets it.

Looks like maybe she fell down the stairs, or something. Crying out for help, the only way she knows…

maybe they should just take the eleven off her phone.

Might show up at the city council meetings next.
