MASON CITY – A Mason City woman called 911 at least 10 times Thursday evening, and police didn’t take too kindly to it.
According to police, 63-year-old Alma Melinda Shafer, dialed 911 at least 10 times on the evening of November 6. Â A dispatcher continued taking the calls, and officers were sent to her home at the 200 block of the 6th Street SE. Â After an investigation, Shafer was arrested and taken to jail for dialing 911 with no emergency. Â Alcohol may have been a factor in the incident. Â She was jailed and soon released.
Shafer pled guilty last year to the same crime, dialing 911 with no emergency, after being charged by Mason City police. Â She was fined for her actions.
