NEWTON – Police in Jasper county were alerted after a man from California – posing as an actor in movies – attempted to abduct a teen.
The family of a 14-year-old girl called police after discovering that the teen had gone to meet a man she had been trading messages with over the internet.
Just minutes later, police spotted 33-year-old David Lavera and placed him under arrest. Lavera had told the teen he was an actor in the Twilight movies. The girl had gotten into his vehicle on her own and a relative had gotten to her first and made her get out of the vehicle. Police searched Lavera’s car and found weapons. He is now in the Jasper County Jail.

Wow. What a world we live in. Was he posing as Dr. Cullen? Maybe Jasper since it happened in a Jasper county. Now I’m curious to see his mug to see what character he was trying to be. Maybe it was Bella’s dad, the police officer with the mustache? Weird.
