Mason City man arrested after police investigate yet another fight

MASON CITY – A local man was arrested early Saturday in the Cultural Crescent as police investigated a fight.

Even as police had their hands full responding to what was described as an all-out melee on 10th Street NE at about the same time, they followed tips that lead them to believe the culprits in that incident might be headed to downtown bars.

Arriving on the scene at the intersection of State Street and North Federal Avenue, police searched for the alleged aggressors that had left the area of the 400 block of 10th Street NE.  Police did not locate anyone connected to that incident, but police observed a Mason City man and attempted to place him under arrest.

Taken into custody was Jordan Jerome Holmes, age 23.  Holmes was charged with interference with official acts, aggravated public intoxication, and assault on a peace officer.

Holmes was held on a bond of $1,000.00 with a  court date set for November 22nd.

Holmes was arrested earlier this month by Clear Lake police after he was discovered to be in the company of a Mason City woman who had stolen her friend’s vehicle and ransacked her possessions.

Also this year, Holmes beat a felony D criminal mischief charge in a plea bargain and accepted a guilty plea of aggravated misdemeanor criminal mischief.  He still owes Iowa courts $3,132.94 in court costs and restitution.

This kid is such an idiot. Tough my ass the philsbury dough boy could take him out and roll him right out of town. PUHHLEASE find a new hobby kid…like a job.

@Easy Writer-the landlords are not the ones bring them in but the Housing Authority is. They are the ones that brought them in to Northwood too. I have no problem with people coming in if they come to work and better themselves. I do have a problem if they come here and try to turn us into Detroit or Chicago. This bunch is reported to have come here from Minnesota.

At least they’re usually going after just each other. OUR problem is staying out of their way.

These PUNKS need to work as hard as they do to get in trouble as getting a JOB.Then they won’t have time for trouble.

look at his last name just another in the long line of trouble making moon crickets

10th St. NW is not in the Cultural Crescent!

As part of a 20-year-old vision for Mason City the Cultural Crescent stretches from the Historic Park Inn Hotel and includes The Music Man Square, the newly-remodeled library, the MacNider Art Museum, the Stockman House and the Architectural Interpretive Center.

It’s close enough.

Did you read the entire story? It said that whizbang here was arrested on or near State Street and Federal, which would put him in the cultural crescent.

Kinda neat how he got his hair to look like a stool brush. Wazup home skillet????

Looks like we need more police. They have their hands full. Catch’em, bring’em in and judges let them out.

Pete!!!! What is up? Glad to see you back!! You should have never left. Don’t let these people scare you away, I like what you had to say!!

I must admit it does sound like Peter. If so, he didn’t stay gone very long. Welcome back Peter.

With a lot of help from Kathy Burtness at Mason City Housing Authority. She’s reeeeal good at bringing in criminals to live here, in our neighborhoods.

austin – what’s the matter? Did MCHA turn you down?

The landlords aren’t importing more blacks to the north end. They are coming there by themselves, a lot of them from Detroit, which has been trashed out. The idea should have been to make the north end nice, or to bull doze it. Then you wouldn’t have this problem.
