NORTHWOOD – A North Iowa manufacturer has been fined $10,000 for failing to comply with water pretreatment agreements and for past wastewater pretreatment violations, the Iowa Department of Natural Resou.
Dura Trac Animal Flooring, located at 305 Enterprise Drive in Northwood, must pay a $10,000 penalty after a 2013 inspection uncovered irregularities in wastewater discharged into the Northwood sewer system. The water was, by law, required to be tested and treated at all times before discharge.
A report from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources indicates that Dura Trac saved nearly $21,000 by skipping the testing.
