BETTENDORF, IOWA – On September 3 and 4, 2014, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Bettendorf Police Department, Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group and Marion Police Department conducted a joint undercover enforcement operation targeting prostitution in the area. Law enforcement authorities worked with management of the Isle of Capri Bettendorf for the use of hotel rooms to conduct this operation and say the enhanced surveillance capabilities of the facility contributed to the success of the operation.
Undercover officers utilized advertisements on websites popular with individuals engaged in prostitution. When suspects responded to the ads, undercover officers arranged meetings with them at the Isle of Capri Bettendorf Hotel.
Law enforcement authorities and management of the Isle of Capri are hopeful operations such as this will deter prostitution activities throughout the Quad Cities area. Undercover operations like the one conducted this week are designed to disrupt criminal activities and apprehend those responsible for promoting them.The below individuals were charged through this cooperative operation:
