NORA SPRINGS – Cops were in pursuit of a Nora Springs man Monday night, who eluded them on an ATV before running away on foot.

Police are seeking Cole Thomas Wickwire, age 19, of Nora Springs at this time. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that at about 5:50 PM, a deputy attempted to stop an ATV that was operating on a roadway at the 19000 block of Yucca Avenue near Nora Springs. The driver, Cole Wikwire, refused to stop, and fled into the Shell Rock River Preserve. Wickwire then abandoned the ATV and continued to flee on foot into a wooded area. Several warrants were issued for his arrest.

Mason City police along with law enforcement from the Iowa State Patrol, Mitchell county, Floyd county and Hancock county assisted in the search for Wickwire, who remains at large. Call your local law enforcement agency if you know his whereabouts.
