
ROLFE, IOWA – A man was hurt when an attacker wielding a machete in this tiny Northern Iowa community cut loose, but law enforcement arrived quickly to subdue the suspect and render aid.
On June 22, 2025, at approximately 12:27 AM, the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that one subject had attacked another subject with a machete at 407 Elm Street in Rolfe, Iowa.
When Deputies arrived on scene, they were able to identify all parties involved in the altercation. One male subject was located who had received minor injuries from a machete.
Upon further investigation, 38-year-old David Pineda Medrano was taken into custody and transported to the Pocahontas County Jail. Medrano was charged with the following:
– Going Armed with Intent — Class D Felony
– 1st Degree Harassment — Aggrvated Misdemeanor
– Assault Causing Bodily Injury — Serious Misdemeanor
