WATERLOO – One person is dead and another in a hospital after gun violence in Waterloo late Sunday.
On Sunday July 6, 2025, at approximately 10:56 PM Waterloo Police Officers and Waterloo Fire were dispatched to the 1641 Mulberry Street on a report of a person who had been shot. Officers arrived on scene and located a female victim who had been shot. As officers and fire personal were treating the female victim, they were directed to 1724 Mulberry Street, where a male gunshot victim was located. The male gunshot victim was pronounced deceased. The female victim is being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The identity of the victims are being withheld pending family notification, police said. Days later, the male victim was identified as 20-year-old A’ Tarion Key ‘Won De ‘Shawn Spates of Waterloo.
