Clear Lake woman pleads guilty to drunk driving, false report

MASON CITY – A Clear Lake woman recently pled guilty to operating while intoxicated and delivering a false report to law enforcement.

Andrea Haley Kennedy, age 22, pled guilty on June 30th to first offense operating while intoxicated and making a false report. Judge Karen Salic on July 2nd imposed a two day jail term and a $625 fine for the drunk driving offense and a fine of $65 for the false report. She owes $1,041.50 total to Iowa courts. Kennedy also had to complete a substance abuse evaluation at Prairie Ridge.

Kennedy claims via social media to be a childcare provider at Charlie Brown Preschool & Childcare in Clear Lake since September of 2010.

I mean really it’s the perfect business. A new crop of young, naive drinkers come of age and don’t realize the established racket that awaits them. FUN FUN FUN…LIVE IT UP…Get laid…DRINK IT DOWN…GO TO TOWN…WHOOP WHOOP…now you’re pulled over. Now you’re balancing on your toes. Now you’re in cuffs. Now you’re in the system…paying fines, contributing to the machine. You’ll learn, maybe after another DUI, if THEY’RE lucky…but it doesn’t matter cuz another one awaits.

@Philly-what makes you think they will ever pay their fines? A lot of them do not and then they do not have a drivers license or insurance but continue to drive anyway.

He thinks they will pay because he paid his $3,255.26.
