Emergency landing at Ames airport results in no injuries

AMES – Ames police said this evening that a small plane was a part of an emergency landing Friday at the Ames Airport.

Ames police reported that at about 6:20 PM, they received a call about an emergency landing at the Ames Airport. Ames police and fire responded as a precaution. A small, one engine plane had a problem with its landing gear while landing. The small airplane sustained damage to the front end and propeller, however, no one was injured.  Police described it as a “minor incident”.

The Ames Police Department does not investigate this type of incident. The FAA is on site and will handle the investigation.
