DES MOINES – Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, who signed a law allowing greedy small businesses to exploit children in their businesses to maximize their profits, will hold a press conference on Monday to complain about the repercussions of breaking federal law.
Reynolds will be at Sugapeach Chicken & Fish Fry in North Liberty on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 10:30 am to “highlight the U.S. Department of Labor’s excessive penalties against Iowa businesses that employ teens.”
Iowa business owners have stocked up on the cheap labor that children can be talked into offering. Some have been working in dangerous jobs in slaughterhouses, surrounded by razor-sharp mechanical equipment. Others have had to work long hours under the thumb of crazed management looking to shore up the day’s bottom line in the prayer these wage-earners might look good to their boss and get a buck an hour raise for their efforts.

Reynolds gave details about her press conference:
Who: Speakers include Gov. Kim Reynolds, Sugapeach Owner Chad Simmons, Iowa Restaurant Association President and CEO Jessica Dunker
What: Press conference highlighting U.S. Department of Labor’s “excessive” penalties against small business owners in Iowa that employ teens
When: Monday, June 24, 2024, at 10:30 am
Where: Sugapeach Chicken and Fish Fry, 650 Pacha Parkway, Suite 1, North Liberty, IA 52317
