O’Connor accepts Republican Party nomination for Cerro Gordo county auditor election

MASON CITY – Don O’Connor of Mason City announced today that he has accepted the Republican Party nomination for Cerro Gordo county auditor in an upcoming election.

Mr. O’Connor’s statement:

“I am a life long resident of Cerro Gordo County, born in Mason City moved to Rockwell and then to a farm in Eastern Cerro Gordo County were I grew up, then moving to Mason City were I still currently reside with my wife Carol and grandson Ryan who is a junior at MCHS.  I feel my experience of managing local private business here in Mason City area for over 35 years will most definitely help qualify me for this job as I have worked with budgets, finances and people all of my professional career.  When the Auditor position opened up again last week my wife Carol and I sat down and decided that the time was right and better now than never.  I promise the resident of Cerro Gordo County that I will work hard to uphold the office of County auditor if the voters decide to entrust me with the job and will not let them down.  For those who do not know me we will have a lot of opportunities over the next few months to get to know each other and I am looking forward to that very much.”

The election will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Pat Wright is the acting Auditor in Cerro Gordo county.
