DES MOINES – Charles City has received some much-needed funds to help finish some downtown projects.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) announced this week that $66,000 in Main Street Iowa Challenge Grants will be awarded to Charles City to help complete several downtown projects on Main Street.
“These challenge grants have proven to be catalysts for the revitalization of Iowa’s historic main streets,” said IEDA Director Debi Durham.
The city and other investors will match the grant dollar for dollar at $66,927.28, bringing the total spent on the projects to $133,854.56.
