Waterloo police dealing with plenty of trouble

WATERLOO – Police in Waterloo have had their hands full over the last couple of days as violence has erupted and a teen is dead.

According to police, on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 6:56 PM, Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue were sent to 1211 Langley Road on a report of shots fired and a man on the ground by the garages. The victim was identified as 18 year old Daequan Oshae Campbell of 438 Locust Street, Waterloo. Campbell was shot in the chest and hip. He was transported to Covenant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. Police are asking anyone with information is asked to call the Waterloo Police Investigation Division at 319-291-4340, ex. 5003.

Then on Friday, November 15, 2013 at approximately 12:14 AM, Waterloo Police were sent to 1123 Columbia Street on report of shots fired at a house.

Two people were home at the time, but no one was hurt. Officers found several bullet holes in the back door and in the kitchen window.

That case also remains under investigation.
