NORA SPRINGS – A Marble Rock man was cited for traffic violations after he was injured in a motorcycle accident, authorities said Thursday.

According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, on October 9, at about 10:44pm, Cerro Gordo County Deputies responded to a motorcycle accident with an injured person at the intersection of Zinnia Avenue and 215th Street (Floyd County Street name).

The motorcycle allegedly drove through a stop sign westbound and continued off of the roadway through the “T” intersection, losing control. The motorcycle and driver, James Hunt, 53, of Marble Rock, ended up in a cornfield.

Mr. Hunt was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa by Nora Springs Ambulance. Deputies were assisted by the Rockford Fire Department and Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

Hunt was later cited for fail to maintain control and violation of a restricted license.
