WASHINGTON, March 22 (UPI) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of 2,800 hydraulic brake systems for bicycles that could fail in cold temperatures.
The hydraulic disc brakes imported from Germany by Magura USA of Olney, Ill., consist of a brake lever and master cylinder that attaches to the bicycle’s handlebar. There is also a hose that runs to the caliper, which attaches to the rear wheel.
The MT 6 brake system is silver and black. The MT 8 system is black and red. Both have the Magura logo and the letters MT on the master cylinder.
Consumers were advised to stop using the bicycles immediately and contact Magura for a free repair.
Consumers can call 800-448-3876 for information.
