A singer who has been a regular performer at Lorados bar and restaurant in Mason City has made it to the finals of a popular talent competition.
Nicholas David, who is from the Twin Cities area, advanced to the finals of “The Voice” after Tuesday’s episode.
“The Voice” is not about looks; the show focuses more on the singing talent of the contestants. The show bills itself as a “blockbuster vocal competition” and is in its third season on NBC.
Julie Bergo, who owns Lorados, said this week that David has been coming to Lorados “for years” and that he always stood out because of his obvious talent. She was anxious for everyone to watch Tuesday’s show and cast a vote for David.
“We’ve always paid him the same rate, and he’s never asked for more,” Bergo said of David. “We’re all so excited for him.”
Next week a winner will be chosen for this season. The show airs on NBC Monday and Tuesday night at 7 PM.
