DES MOINES – Obama for America campaign officials said Sunday that President Barack Obama is slated to return to Iowa this week, one day after addressing the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.
President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, first lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden were scheduled to travel to Iowa for a campaign event on Friday, aides said. Additional details were not available.
The Iowa stop on Friday will follow a campaign event in New Hampshire – one day after the Democrats’ nominating convention that officially launches Obama’s re-election bid.
Obama made his seventh trip to Iowa in 2012 last weekend with stops in Urbandale and Sioux City.
The presidential appearance in Iowa by the Democratic ticket will come during a week when GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, a Wisconsin congressman, is slated to hold campaign events in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday evening and in the Des Moines area on Wednesday morning. It will be Ryan’s second trip to Iowa since Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney tabbed Ryan as his running mate.
I was in Sioux City this weekend and someone asked me if I had gone to see the President. I held my tongue just in case she was a supporter……. I really wanted to go get a picture of the banner on that hangar.
There was a couple colleges that said no to his visits because they have to pay for the security, I wonder how much we had to pay for his security when he is here?
He will need a lot more security before he is done trying to destroy our country.
I wonder why Obama couldn’t just do a swing through Iowa while he was here the first time. Talk about a guy that knows nothing about saving money.
Money is no problem for Obama, we are paying the bill for him and his big plane. A few weeks ago, he goes to Waterloo, takes his bus and spends the night in Cedar Rapids, then goes to Dubuque, then to Davenport. If you would have planed this trip, you would have gone to Waterloo, then Dubuque, then Davenport. (Not stay in Cedar Rapids, that is not on the path.)
The next week, he came back, his flight landed in Des Moines, 5 helecopters sent him into Ames, pretty much closed down campus town for the day right when they are starting school. They take off from there and fly to Souix City.
Then he comes back last weekend to close down Living History Farms in Urbandale. (After he screwed the beer tent at the Iowa State fair $25,000 for shutting his beer stand there down a few weeks earlier.)
This also clearly shows that this man is in trouble this election cycle. For him to be in Iowa this much just proves it. We only have 6 electoral votes I think and he is really messing up our economy with these visits and costing us thousands of dollars for each visit for security by local forces not to mention lost business.
Maybe they can get a welcome sign like Obama got in Sioux City. They had big red letters at the airport hangar. OBAMA SUX we built this. So do you Biden.
