ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – A small tornado touched down in Estherville during this week’s derecho, the National Weather Service confirmed.
“We have confirmed an EF-0 tornado just west of Estherville, IA from the evening of July 5, 2022,” the National Weather Service. “Damage was limited to a few homes, along with tree and crop damage.”
Top wind speeds reached an estimated 85 miles per hour. The twister traveled under 2 miles.
