Osage police issue reminder to pet owners

OSAGE – The Osage Police Department would like to remind pet owners of either dogs or cats that there is a City Ordinance (55.08) which prohibits animals from running at large. All animals shall be restrained by a leash or chain. If animals are found to be at large they will be seized and impounded and/or the owner will be presented with a summons to appear before the courts.
Having your animals at large is a danger to the animals and to the general public as your normally docile pet may become aggressive because it is scared or feel threatened. Please be a responsible pet owner by leashing your pet at all times outside of your house. If you have any questions regarding the ordinance please call the Osage Police Department at 641-732-3777.
