The Seattle Times –
SEATTLE — Mexican airline Aeromexico said Wednesday it intends to order 100 Boeing aircraft in an order with a list price of approximately $11 billion.
Grupo Aeromexico’s letter of intent includes 90 of Boeing’s forthcoming 737-8 MAX and 10 787-9 Dreamliners.
The airline called it the largest investment ever made by a Mexican aviation company.
It said the planned order is in addition to the 10 Embraer 190 airplanes and 10 Boeing 737 NG airliners Aeromexico ordered last year. The airline also has nine previously ordered 787-9 Dreamliners, with first delivery is scheduled for summer 2013.
Aeromexico said delivery of its 737-8 MAX planes would begin in 2018.
