Every Midwestern knows the heat has been unbearable this summer. The grass is brown and the crops are withering.
The people at Big Blue can’t do anything about the heat, but they can beat it, by diving, jumping and frolicking in the cool water.
Even when out of the water, the kids had to stand in the shade to keep the sun from slamming down on them.
They have tied a rope on a branch at the opposite end of the beach, where they climb high into the tree and jump or swing. Good old fashioned kid fun.
WAIT!!! What’s in the forecast? A thunderstorm watch until 1:00 am Thursday for Cerro Gordo County? We’ll see. A slight cool breeze, lightning and a little thunder with a few sprinkles at 9:15 pm Wednesday.
A report of branches down on power lines in Thornton, causing fires around the same time, 9:15 pm.
