Payless Shoes partners with United Way for shoe drive

MASON CITY, IOWA – Payless ShoeSource of Mason City is partnering with United Way of North Central Iowa for the 2nd annual Shoe Drive to benefit area students returning to school in the fall. Payless ShoeSource is having a 20% off athletic shoe sale until July 14. When purchasing athletic shoes, customers should ask the Payless ShoeSource associate or the ShopKo Service Desk for the 20% off coupon. Athletic shoes can be donated to any of the area drop off locations, including the United Way Office at 600 1st Street NW Suite 102 in Mason City.

“We are excited to partner with Payless ShoeSource for the athletic shoe sale,” said Drew Norton, Regional Coordinator of UWNCI. “Everyone can help students in local schools by donating to the shoe drive. Community members are encouraged to take advantage of the shoe sale and help reach our goal of 1200 pairs of shoes!”

The shoe drive will continue through July and shoes will be distributed before school starts. New to gently used athletic shoes in all sizes will be accepted. This year, United Way plans to serve the entire North Central Iowa area. A complete list of drop off locations can be found on the UWNCI website at www.unitedwaynci.org or by calling 641-423-1774.

United Way of North Central Iowa is helping people, changing lives and building community by focusing on the building blocks of a better life: education, income and health.
