CLEAR LAKE – Brother and sister runners Stephanie and Ryan Faught (pictured) participated in the 5K and 10K Earth Day Run held in Clear Lake Saturday.

Stephanie came in first place in the women’s 5K and Ryan was third in the men’s 10K run. Their mother said, “Ryan almost got second, just coming in right behind second place winner Dan Randall.”

First place winner in the men’s 5K went to Ryan Smith. He was the first runner in and it took a few minutes to catch his breath to be able to get his name. First Place in the Male 10K was John Krebsbach.

“There were over 300 runners this year.” said representive of the Phone Company, who sponsored the event, “There were more that signed up, but didn’t show up.”

People of all ages participated in the event. Young kids, crossing the finish lines, with smiles on their faces. Proud to finish, proud to part of The Earth Day Run.

Finishing times were not immediately available.
