Charles City band Endless Summer to enter Iowa hall of fame

CHARLES CITY – Endless Summer, “Iowa’s premier 50’s and 60’s rock & roll band” will be inducted into the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association (IRRMA) Hall of Fame this Labor Day Weekend.

The band, whose members are primarily from the Charles City and New Hampton area, left a thank you for their fans on their website.

“Thanks to all our fans for making this possible. We sent out the word, and you all responded. We had over 3000 hits on our site during the nominating (voting) period, and IRRMA reported the response was “tremendous.”

Many of their fans responded.

“I am so very glad to hear of your induction into the IA Rock and Roll hall of fame. It’s just great news for you all, and your fans. Just shows we know a great band when we hear it,” said Linda Ellingson of Lake Mills.

“Congrats to you guys – Thanks for making us tap our toes and smile for 26 years! Well deserved,” said Gary Quint of Charles City.

The band will be inducted on September 1st, 2012 at Arnold’s Park, Lake Okoboji, Iowa.

You can catch Endless Summer playing on March 30th and 31st at the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood.
