The Cerro Gordo County Supervisors met Tuesday morning in Mason City. The Supervisors were told that Alliant energy started a project and did not get a permit from the county. Video included.|Cerro Gordo County Supervisors met at the courthouse in Mason City Tuesday morning.
The Supervisors were told that Allaint Energy began a project of replacing power poles on Killdeer Avenue between 220th Street and 230th Street but did not get a permit from the county to do the work. “When asked if Alliant neglects to obtain permits regularly, a person in the County Engineer’s office said “No, that’s rare. They’re usually pretty good about that.”
NorthIowaToday.com was also told that Alliant has offered to reimburse the county for any damages to county property that the project might cause. “The gravel roads leading to the project are getting pretty torn up,” the spokesperson said. “We may ask for reimbursement to make those repairs.” She said the gravel roads are very soft due to the recent inclement weather, and the heavy Alliant trucks would be very hard on those roads.
Claims were approved 3-0.
Dock permits, 5 of them, were approved 3-0.
An AFLAC accident and indemnity plan was OK’d as an offering to county employees, at no cost to the county.
