CHARLES CITY – Charles City police spotted a suspicious vehicle tooling about the community after 2 AM one recent morning, and thanks to their police work, a potential meth dealer was whisked away to a jail cell.
According to Charles City police, the incident took place on the morning of September 30, 2025. At 2:20 AM, near the 1200 block of South Main Street, officers with the Charles City police department conducted a traffic stop and encountered 46-year-old David Nolan of Albert Lea, Minnesota. Records show that police applied for and were granted, by a judge, a search warrant related to Nolan. After the police investigation was completed, Nolan was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. As a result, Nolan was arrested on the following chagres:
- CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATION (possession of meth with intent to deliver) (Class B felony)

Nolan (pictured at top) was then taken to the Floyd county jail and booked in at 3:53 AM. Later, he was appointed a public defender. He remains held in the jail on $25,000 cash-only bond as he awaits a preliminary hearing set for the morning of October 10.
