Justice Not Politics Chair Terrell Responds to Retention of Justice David Wiggins

Iowa Supreme Court Justice David Wiggins will remain on the court.

DES MOINES — Connie Ryan Terrell, Chair of Justice Not Politics, released the following statement tonight responding to the results of tonight’s election, which resulted in the retention of Iowa Supreme Court Justices David Wiggins, Edward Mansfield, Thomas Waterman, and Bruce Zager:

“Tonight was a victory for keeping politics out of the Iowa Supreme Court, and for making sure every Iowan is equal and free from discrimination.”

“Iowans are proud of our courts and our tradition of equality, and that was shown in tonight’s retention victory for David Wiggins and all four Supreme Court justices. Justice Not Politics will continue the fight to protect our courts from politics, and from all those who attempt to intimidate and bully our judges.”

I voted to retain him because I do not think religion has any business in the courts. VanderPlatts and his bible thumpers and hypoctits from other states should be run out of Iowa.

The only reason I was upset with Justice Wiggins was that he job is to uphold the laws not make laws.

Judy he didn’t make law. When will people understand. He ruled on the constitutionality of a law.

Thankyou voters for telling the bible thumpers to take a hike. Bringing all that money and out of state loud mouths to try and intimidate the people of Iowa back fired.
