Northern Iowa man accused of attempted murder

WAVERLY - After an alleged serious assault, police in Waverly nabbed a suspect with a long rap sheet and slapped him with two felony charges, including attempted murder.

WAVERLY – After an alleged serious assault, police in Waverly nabbed a suspect with a long rap sheet and slapped him with two felony charges, including attempted murder.

On April 29, 2025 at approximately 8:30 PM, the Waverly Police Department responded to a residence in southwest Waverly in reference to an assault. Upon further investigation, 50-year-old Bryan V. Streich of Waverly, Iowa, was arrested on the following charges:

– WILLFUL INJURY – CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY (CLASS C FELONY)

– ATTEMPTED MURDER (CLASS B FELONY)

Streich was released to the Bremer County Jail where he was booked and held to see the duty magistrate.

Streich is currently being held on a $50,000 cash bond. He has been accused of numerous crimes going back decades, including domestic assault, drunk driving (multiple), public intoxication, disorderly conduct, theft, parole violations, and more.
