On Sunday June 30, 2024, at approximately 8:22 AM, Waterloo Police responded to a report of a male in the 200 block of Manson with a gun. The investigation into this incident resulted in an officer involved shooting in the 1200 block of E 4th Street, with one male being declared deceased. During the incident two Waterloo police officers were shot and transported to a local hospital.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has been called in to investigate the incident.
