MARBLE ROCK – The small Northern Iowa town of Marble Rock has purchased and finished outfitting a new fire engine, ready to serve and keep folks safe.
According to the Marble Rock Fire Department:
Over the past couple years we have been raising funds to replace a fire engine. Late last fall we purchased a 2008 Spartan/Smeal Sirius Rescue Engine. We spent the winter making some minor repairs and modifications as well as organizing and setting up compartments to meet our needs. It has been in service serving the community since this Spring. We just got the lettering and graphics finished up (thanks to D & D Sales out of Mason City for the great work on those!) so we’d officially like to introduce it to everyone!
This Engine features a 2000 gallon per minute pump, a 1000 gallon water tank, a cab that will accommodate 6 firefighters, and many other features that will enhance our response. This truck carries all the equipment of a regular fire engine as well as our hydraulic extrication tools and a full compliment of BLS EMS equipment.
Come on out and check it out at our annual supper this Friday evening or on Saturday during the Fun Days Parade. We greatly appreciate all of your support in helping us obtain the necessary equipment to help keep our community safe!
