WAUKEE – Police discovered two deceased people in this suburban Iowa townhouse development Thursday morning.
On Thursday, February 16, 2023, at approximately 7:27 AM, the Waukee Police Department, along with units from the the Waukee Fire Department, were dispatched to a possible suicide call in the 200 block of SE Boulder Ct.
Upon arrival, officers located two deceased individuals inside the residence. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation responded to assist the Waukee Police Department with the investigation. This incident has been ruled a murder/suicide, police say. The victim is 26-year-old Nelcybert Estafani Castillo Mata, she had been in a domestic relationship with 36-year-old Felix Baccam, who was found with self-inflicted injuries at the scene.
There is no threat to the public and this is an ongoing investigation.
The Waukee Police Department extended heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this tragedy.
