Kelly Morris, age 63 of Lu Verne, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at his home. A Celebration of Kelly’s Life will be held at a later date. Lentz Funeral Home of Algona is assisting the family.
Kelly Mitchell Morris, the son of David and Kathryn (Bockes) Morris, he was born on January 24, 1961 in Cedar Falls, lowa. Kelly grew up in Cedar Falls and Newton, finally calling the family farm home in Lu Verne, IA. His culinary talent and passion lead him to opening his own restaurant, Kelly’s Shamrock, in Humboldt, IA. He was later known to many as their favorite bartender and employee at the Corwith Locker. Kelly was a member of the Corwith American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, homesteading, good music, and caring for all animals, especially his own. He was well known for his humor and cooking, making every holiday and gathering unforgettable. Kelly’s willingness to help friend, family, or stranger touched everyone around him. His servant’s heart and capacity to love will make him missed that much more.
Left to cherish his memory include his sister, Kristine (Vidal Spaine) Morris of Prairie City, brother, Kurt (Rhonda) Morris of Kellogg, and close friend, Craig McCrea. Nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Lauren, Madeline, Natasha, Luke, and Jordan. His aunt Lila Morris, uncle Bob (Pat) Morris, and uncle Jess (Karen) Morris. Along with his pets: Molly, Quinn, Oreo, Bonnie, Bart, and Doug. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Kathryn, and grandparents, John (Nellie) Bockes and Elmer (Sally) Morris.
