Murder suspect Farnsworth’s trial set for January

MASON CITY — A man living in Waterloo accused of murdering a Mason City man will go to trial next year.

James Eric Farnsworth II, 23, will face a jury trial on January 14th, 2013 at 9 AM in Cerro Gordo County.

On April 14th, 2012, it is alleged that Farnsworth stabbed Ian Decker of Mason City to death outside a party on East State Street.

Farnworth was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder in connection with the stabbing.   Both Ian Decker and James Farnsworth knew each other, and authorities are not looking for any other suspects in connection to this case.

1st Degree murder is a class A felony.

Farnsworth left the Cerro Gordo County Jail on May 15th after posting $200,000 bond.
