FORT DODGE – A young man from Fort Dodge accused of being involved in the shooting of two people was recently nabbed by Chicago police.
On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, officers with the Chicago Police Department made contact with a male while on patrol that led to an arrest on multiple charges. During this contact the individual gave the Chicago officers a false name that was associated to Fort Dodge. In the course of their investigation, they discovered that the individual that they had arrested was actually a subject with warrants out of Fort Dodge and was identified as Keeshaun J. Crooks.
Crooks’ warrants are in connection to the shooting investigation from March 7th at Star Convenience. Mr. Crooks is being held in the Cook County Jail, in Chicago, Illinois on multiple firearm, narcotics, and assault offenses stemming from the Chicago Police Department investigation. Mr. Crooks appeared in Cook County Court on his local charges on June 30th. Mr. Crooks charges in Chicago must be adjudicated prior to extradition. Below are the charges that Mr. Crooks was wanted on in reference to the shooting investigation from March 7th.
• Willful Injury (C Felony)
• Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (C Felony)
• Going Armed with Intent (D Felony)
• Possession of Firearm as Felon (D Felony)
• Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
Police are still looking for Eadon L. Long of Fort Dodge. Mr. Long is wanted on the following charges:
• Willful Injury (C Felony)
• Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (C Felony)
• Going Armed with Intent (D Felony)
• Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon x 2 (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
• Minor Armed with a Dangerous Weapon Serious Misdemeanor)
Long is described as being 17 years of age, 5’11” tall, and weighing 140 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Mr. Long, they are encouraged to contact law enforcement immediately.
Additionally, as part of the investigation, Webster County Crime Stoppers have decided to increase the reward for information that leads to the arrest of Mr. Long from $500.00 to $750.00.
