AMES – No. 12 Iowa State will be looking to extend its winning streak to five games, which would match its best of the season, on Wednesday night at Kansas State.
The Cyclones are coming off one of their best wins of the season, coming back from a big first quarter deficit to take down then-No. 14 Oklahoma 86-78 at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday.

Key Storylines
- The Cyclones’ win over the Sooners, which kept ISU tied atop the Big 12 standings, was led by yet another outstanding performance from Ashley Joens, who posted a game-high 32 points, her second 30-point game of the season.
- Combined with her 19-point/14-rebound outing at TCU last Wednesday, Joens was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for the 12th time in her career, tying her former teammate Bridget Carleton (2016-19) for second-most in Big 12 history.
- Joens leads the Big 12 with her 20.2 points per game and averages 9.6 boards per game with nine double-doubles. On Monday, she was named to the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20.
- Four other Cyclones were in double figures vs. the Sooners, with Denae Fritz tying her career high with 14 points, while she also grabbed six rebounds.
- Emily Ryan had another statsheet-stuffing game, finishing with 14 points (including going 8-of-8 at the free throw line), eight assists and seven rebounds.
- Ryan’s 8-for-8 led ISU to a 30-of-34 (88.2 percent) day from the free throw line, the 10th time under Bill Fennelly the Cyclones have made at least 30 FTs in a game. ISU is sixth nationally with a team free throw percentage of 79.2 percent.
- Fennelly enters Wednesday’s game at 749 career wins and would become the 27th NCAA women’s basketball head coach all-time to reach 750 career wins, and would be one of nine active coaches at 750.
- In addition, Fennelly would become one of just 13 to get all 750 of those wins at the Division I level, getting his first 166 at Toledo before getting 583 at Iowa State.
