CHARLES CITY – A wanted man was taken into custody last week by Charles City police.
According to a report, 22-year-old Matthew Tobin of Charles City was in the police department lobby on April 9 when he was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Winnebago county. Tobin stands charged by Forest City police with felony domestic assault involving strangulation, an offense that allegedly occurred on April 8.
Tobin was taken to the Winnebago county jail and booked. He later posted $5,000 cash / surety bond and was released, pending an April 21 court hearing.
Tobin has been charged with various serious crimes throughout the North Iowa area, including willful injury causing bodily harm, burglary, theft, drug possession, drunk driving, and more.
