Valerie I. Macumber, 74, of Mason City, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Mercy One North Iowa.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, May 2, 2022 at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd ST. SE, Mason City, Iowa. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Day. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Valerie Macumber fund.
Valerie Irene was born on July 15, 1947 in Frankfurt, Germany. She is the daughter of Chester and Irene LeViness. She graduated from Frankfurt American High School in Germany and moved back to the US when her father was transferred in the military. She worked for NAPA and then for the rest of her career she was a teller at the United Home Bank. She retired in 2012. She met Joseph Amundson in 2003 at a New Year’s Eve party at the Candy Bar and a long term relationship began. She collected Hummel figurines. She loved going to East Park to feed the critters including the deer, squirrels, and ducks. She enjoyed reading and playing computer games.
Those surviving her include Joseph “Joe” Amundson of 19 years, several cousins and one Aunt.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
