Elected officials in Mason City to be sworn in

MASON CITY – After the November elections, Mason City will swear in public officials next week.

Newly re-elected City Council and Park Board members will be sworn in at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 19 in the Mason City Room of the Public Library. They are At-Large Council member Paul Adams (like Hawkeyes), First Ward Council member John Lee (defeated Prestage hog plant) and Third Ward Council member Joshua Masson (ex-military). Also being sworn in are Park Board members Troy Levenhagen (magician) and Jay Lala (likes beer in the alley).

The Oath of Office will be administered by Mayor Bill Schickel (Chris Christie supporter).

The term of office for the newly elected officials begins January 1. Council member Tim Latham (businessman) took office immediately after being sworn in November 15. He is filling the vacancy created by the death of Council member Tom Thoma.
