RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – On Monday, December 7, 2020 at about 5:24 PM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a truck that rear ended a tractor in the 13000 block of 330th Street Northwest of Mason City.
Jeff Yezek, 48 of Clear Lake was westbound on 330th Street when he rear ended a farm tractor that was in front of him driven by Tim Benjegerdes, 31 of Mason City. Yezek was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and the airbags did deploy on his vehicle.
Yezek was transported to MercyOne North Iowa for treatment by Mason City Fire Medics. Benjegerdes was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation with charges possible.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mason City Fire Medics and Manly Fire and Rescue.
