DES MOINES – A person was shot at the Iowa capitol in Des Moines Sunday as a Trump rally was being held and an alleged confrontation possibly led to the bloodshed.
The Iowa State Patrol and the Division of Criminal Investigation were called to the Iowa State Capitol Sunday afternoon on a report of a shooting. A victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. There is no on-going threat to the public, the agency reports.
The Iowa State Patrol and the Division of Criminal Investigation will continue to investigate this matter.
Des Moines news outlets say the victim was a woman and there was a confrontation during a Trump rally, but the link has not been officially confirmed as of Monday morning.
