The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors convened on April 21, 2026, to address a variety of infrastructure maintenance projects, drainage district updates, and significant county expenditures. Vice-Chairperson Terry Durby and Supervisor Smith were in attendance, while Supervisor Jensvold participated in the session via telephone. A major focus of the meeting involved local drainage district management. Supervisor Durby reported that work on DD 14 Lateral 6 has reached completion, while Supervisor Smith initiated a discussion regarding the impact of beaver dams on the county’s drainage infrastructure. To support future maintenance efforts, the board moved to add Mike Petersburg as an authorized drainage contractor, contingent upon the receipt of his required paperwork. In secondary road developments, County Engineer Scott Meinders and Maintenance Superintendent Ethan Schutter informed the board that bids for upcoming projects are due this Friday. During the road report, Supervisor Jensvold also flagged a specific concern regarding an animal hole in a county roadway that may require attention. The board also processed a series of financial claims and payroll for the period. Notable expenditures included a $23,166.36 payment to Ziegler Inc for parts and $5,776.38 to IP Pathways for services. Other approved claims included $3,851.50 to Terex Global GMBH and $3,144.75 to NBS/Wahltek. Additionally, the Auditor’s office formally received a Manure Management Plan for Lewis Grain and Livestock #67217 within Winnebago County. Following the completion of all agenda items, the session was adjourned until the next scheduled meeting on April 28, 2026.
