MASON CITY – A Mason City man was in jail this weekend after allegedly committing more than one assault on a woman over the course of more than one day.
Police said Monday that Joseph Bryan Tapp, 29, was charged with felony D domestic assault/strangulation after a female who turned out to be Tapp’s girlfriend reported to police that Tapp had assaulted her.
The female made the report on August 23rd, and after an investigation, police began looking for Tapp, who turned himself in to Mason City Police on August 25th; he was arrested that morning at 8:49 AM.
Police confirmed that “more than one alleged assault incident over a couple days” took place between Tapp and the victim.
Via Facebook Monday morning, Joseph Tapp said of the incident: “You know what all you people need to shut up cause the only people that know what happened are me and her. And to think that it’s always the man’s falut yeah right I don’t think so!!! So why don’t you check yourself and know that men aren’t always the bad people in relationships!”
Tapp went on to say that “there is two sides to every story and just cause people think one thing doesnt mean s***!!!”
