AMES – Iowa State dominated West Virginia, 42-6, Saturday to clinch a berth in the Big 12 title game.
Iowa State (8-2, 8-1) was led by Brock Purdy’s 247 yards passing (20-23) and three touchdowns scored. Star running back Breece Hall ran for 97 yards.
The Cyclones led the Mountaineers (5-4, 4-4) 21-0 at halftime after scoring touchdowns on its first three possessions and poured it on in the second half.
Iowa State’s next game is the Big 12 Championship Game scheduled for December 19 at 11 AM, televised on ABC. They will likely face Oklahoma, who the Cyclones already beat this year.
