RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A Mason City truck driver was hurt in an accident near Rockwell on Thursday afternoon.
The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office says an accident took place Thursday, October 27, 2022. At approximately 3:45 PM, the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s department, Rockwell Fire Department, and Mason City Fire Department were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident east of Rockwell, Iowa. The driver of the vehicle, Geoffrey Moore of Mason City, was driving a Five Star Coop tractor trailer westbound on 150th Street near Vine Avenue. The vehicle left the roadway and tipped over in the north ditch. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
As a result of the accident, Moore was transported by Mason City Fire Paramedics to Mercy Hospital.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s department and the Iowa Department of Transportation.
